Hello everyone and happy #WitnessWednesday and #WisdomWednesday! Today, we want to uncover the use of anointing oil in the scriptures. We have come to know what we call "anointing oil" for its use in prayer and worship services. I still currently use "anointing oil" myself, out of habit and tradition, so this is NOT me pointing fingers, but we are (and should be) learning together. Now, i put anointing oil in parentheses because we are actually NOT using anointing oil. 2 Timothy 2:3-4 NLT 3 Endure suffering along with me, as a good soldier of Christ Jesus. 4 Soldiers don’t get tied up in the affairs of civilian life, for then they cannot please the officer who enlisted them. I get tongue-tied, and my words get tangled.” 11 Then the Lord asked Moses, “Who makes a person’s mouth? Who decides whether people speak or do not speak, hear or do not hear, see or do not see? Today, our text peers into a moment of insecurity in the life of Moses. God is directing him in what he needs to do to set His people free but Moses keeps finding excuses. He tells God about whatever speech impediment he had in hopes of getting out of the big task ahead. Do you do that sometimes?  God

A Proverb is a "wise saying" that is not meant to be absolute in it's nature but a general principle that benefits our lives should we heed it. This wise saying encourages generosity. |
