Daniel 6:1-3 NKJV [1] It pleased Darius to set over the kingdom one hundred and twenty satraps, to be over the whole kingdom; [2] and over these, three governors, of whom Daniel was one, that the satraps might give account to them, so that the king would suffer no loss. [3] Then this Daniel distinguished himself above the governors and satraps, because an excellent spirit was in him; and the king gave thought to setting him over the whole realm. Do You Have a Spirit of Excellence? Good morning everyone and happy #WitnessWednesday!! Sometimes God sends a word of encouragement. Sometimes God sends a word of conviction and correction. Idk about you, but for me this message is encouraging, convicting and correcting. I can remember times where y'all would have this message on your screens between 7:30 and 8am every Wednesday. Now, if you get it at all, it comes out whenever I get the chance... That's not a Spirit of Excellence. I'm certainly NOT doing more than I was when I was getting these messages out 1st thing in the morning. What's my excuse? I don't have one. I've become complacent. I haven't given the effort that I once had. And it's not ok. Should God accept less than our very best? No. Why not? Because He gave us nothing less than His Best. He gave us EVERYTHING. Why should we give Him any less than our best? Yes, this may mean praying and studying when you could be hanging out. Yes, this may mean practicing that song over and over until you get it sounding like you want it (God sees you Dupè.) Yes, it may mean going the extra mile to do the things that would please God, even if it costs you something (sleep, money, comfort, pride etc.) In the end if God is pleased with your efforts and you've given your best, what else can come out of this except a great blessing??? Seriously, think about that. When you've given your BEST service to God, what else can He give you other than a reward? We know God's nature. He delights Himself in those who delight themselves in Him. Think Moses , David and Job. None of these men were Jesus by any measure. None of these men were perfect, but they gave God their best and were rewarded greatly. If we are to grow spiritually, we must have a spirit of Excellence in us. Gone are the days of half-stepping, last-minute rushing, and slapping things together. We must excel in our work for God. It's time to graduate. You coming with me or not?
